Faculty of Civil Engineering


The Faculty of Civil Engineering started its activities in 1987 as one of the first three departments of the College of Engineering.  This department as the oldest civil engineering faculty in Semnan province has a distinguished history and a tradition of excellence in teaching. Presently, there are 31 full academic staff in the faculty including 8 associate professors, 22 assistant professors and 1lecturers. Currently, the Faculty of civil engineering has about 342 BSc, 221 MSc and 43 PhD students. The graduate programs at the faculty offer advanced professional training leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in the following fields.

  3. Hydraulic Structures
  4. Coastal and Marine Structures
  5. Environmental Engineering
  6. Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering
  7. Transportation and Highway Engineering


 Several innovative research projects in the fields of structural analysis and design, maintenance and repair of structures, design of hydraulic and marine structures, optimal design of water distribution and wastewater collection networks, water resources planning and management, geotechnical engineering, environmental systems analysis and advanced numerical modeling, have been successfully carried out at this prestigious faculty.

The Laboratories of the faculty for teaching and research are among the best in the province, providing opportunities for all students to gain practical experiences. Furthermore, the computer centre of the faculty with its advanced facilities service academic staff and students.
